Ane Brun, Thom Hell and the elctronica artist Lindstrøm won the “best norwegian album” award from NRK Lydverket, Norwegian Broadcastings music show. To celebrate the award, they were invited to collaberate on a “christmas-song-cover”. They chose to play the Paul McCartney song “wonderfull christmas time”. And their verison became a funky little tune, I most say.

If you want, you can compare it to the original version. Not bad, but I really think the Lindstrøm, Brun, Hell cover is better. Maybe it´s because of the video?

Twitter - a useless service?

In my line of work, I often attend seminars and lectures. Most often nowadays, they seem to have a tendency to discuss “new media”.

In every second sentence, they namedrop these three websites: Facebook, MySpace, and twitter. These seems to be the standard, that every other website presenting any content at all are to be measured by.

And in some ways, I can understand that. These sites have have given A LOT of people around the world a new hobby: To share their life with friends, strangers and family. And yes, that is interesting, and well worth a lecture or two.

Of course, I have signed up to all these sites. I have my own facebook-profile, that I in fact use every day. I´m not quite sure what I am using it for, besides to update my status once in a while, but I use it anyway.

My MySpace-profile is a really neat tool to get in touch, and keep in touch with some of the bands I do stories on. Not to many days ago, I contacted a band named “Hockey” via MySpace, to get their approval to use some of the still pictures on their profile – took me seconds, and would have been virtually impossible without this tool.

But my twitter-profile……I never use it. To anything. And really, I can not see what I should use it to? Somehow I cannot get myself to see the value in this site.

What is the aim of updating this site? Who will benefit if I do it? Would it make my day better or worse in any way? Can someone please help me understand why I should use this strange website?

Seems like Spurs top man last season, Dimitar Berbatov is on his away from White Heart Lane. The rumors have been around all summer for his move to Manchester United, and yesterday it looks like Mister Ferguson got the man he wanted.

It’s obviously a blow for Spurs to loose a player of Berbatovs class, but the preseason have shown that both new lad Giovanni dos Santos and Darren Bent, who struggled last season, can score goals. Let’s hope they can fill the gap after this awesome player leaves us.

Yeah…this might be able to keep me company for enough hours to make it trought the autumn. Seems like I have got to old to play “regular” videogames. I seem to have difficulties relating to the stories they tell – witch make it pretty uninteresting to play – but in a game like this, where nothing is taken seriously at all, I might be able to connect.

The beta of Battlefield Heroes is beeing tested right now, and if we are lucky, we will see a release in august. Just in time before autumn.
